The Story Behind The Work
"THE BREEZE"
Music by Sangah Noona
Lyrics by David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
To improve my craft as a lyrist, I am constantly studying the works of the great lyrists and composers of the past. Unexpectedly, during a search for "The Shadow Of Your Smile", I came across Sangah Noona, a very talented and charming singer/pianist from South Korea currently residing in the Washington D.C. area. How could I resist the urge to write a few lyrics for her songs, "The Breeze", "If I Had A Moment", "Your Lucky Day", "Memory Of The Spring", "Fireflies", "The Way Back Home", "Cherry Blossom", and "Friday 1933".

"SOMEONE WHO WILL CARE"
Lyrics by David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
This beautiful melody was used in a commercial for St. Jude Children's Hospital. As I watched, I imaged the children waiting for someone to hear their plea. I couldn't go to sleep that night without writing lyrics for this very moving and heartfelt melody
I later realized that this was also my father's plea. After the death of my mother in 2007, he was left to care for himself. So, I took seven years off from all work and play... and took care of him until he died in 2014. I was the last person that he ever imagined would drop everything to be there for him... but, I would gladly do it all over again.

"CRAZY"
Music by HOSO
Lyrics David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
HOSO is a popular South Korean duet currently performing on YouTube. This musical duo consists primarily of a female pianist and a male vocalist. The English lyrics were inspired by a heartbreaking conversation Ithat I had with a close friend of mine. He is currently divorced and living alone.

"IF WE DON'T HAVE YOU"
Music By HOSO
Lyrics by David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
Some melodies are so universal that writing lyrics in just about any language is an easy task. This is one of those melodies. It was recorded by HOSO, a popular duet from South Korea, as a cover for "KISS THE RAIN", a song that I wrote English lyrics to in 2015. Because it clearly has a different melody than the original "KISS THE RAIN", I was instantly inspired to renamed it "IF WE DON'T HAVE YOU" and wrote new English lyrics for what I believe to be an incredibly beautiful and moving melody.

"KISS THE RAIN"
Music by Yiruma
Lyrics by David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
This song was my introduction to South Korean Artists. I was just surfing through YouTube and came across this song. It caught my attention because I had written an almost identical song on the piano many years earlier. My song was entitled, "Si Tu No Estas" [translation: "If You're Not Here"]. I still have a recording of it on cassette tape. Talk about deja vu, it took me less than an hour to write six English verses and an extended chorus. It is performed by YIRUMA, a South Korean pianist who studied in England. I had labeled this work as work written by an anonymous lyricist, until now.

"LUCREZIA'S THEME"
Music by Bear McCreary
Lyrics by David Sanz • Brownsville/McAllen
This enchanting melody is hidden within the storyline of "Da Vinci's Demons", a historical fantasy drama series based on the extraordinary life of Leonardo Da Vinci. It originally aired on Starz in 2013, the Complete First, Second and Third Seasons are available on Blu-ray and DVD. This is one of my favorite projects.
RioXP was founded, designed, and built by David Sanz, an innovative, award-winning computer graphics designer from the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.
The quest: To create an Easy-to-Use, One-Touch Online Business Network to help answer one simple, yet extremely complex, question: "Where can I find what I'm looking for?" All of the guides for 2015 seemed to resemble the old "blind leading the blind" analogy. There had to be a better way, a new and innovative solution to our never-ending quest to find what, at times, we're not even sure we're looking for.
As mentioned previously, during RioXP's endless construction, it's very important that we provide open access and continuous use of each of our platforms. We are proud of each stage of our work, every business, and every attraction that we feature on RioXP. And perhaps to some, our efforts may resemble Henry Ford's 1908 Model T, but that's exactly what we want, a simple, easy-to-use system that focuses entirely on the implementation of strategically placed links, websites, web pages, and other online marketing tools designed to help consumers experience a wide variety of businesses, restaurants, service options available in the city of their choice.
Inevitably, we're at the forefront of a new direction in networking, a step up from the old horse-drawn carriage, and we hope that you will continue to join us as we Taste, XPlore, and XPerience some extraordinary delights along the way.
Thank you for visiting RioXP.com, The Valley's Premier Online Business Network. We would like to extend a warm invitation to all of our friends from around the state, the country, and the world...

After studying the life of "Frederic Chopin", I learned that he had been ill for most of his life. Here's song No. 4 of 15 from my "Command Performance" Story Collection. It is dedicated "With Love" to Robin Williams' widow, Susan. 14 THE BREEZE
In 1962, Heloisa Pinheiro was a 17-year old student from Rio de Janeiro who loved to spend her time at the Ipanema beach. We've all heard the song she inspired, "The Girl From Ipanema", "The Breeze" is what I imagine she would sing if she actually did catch a glimpse of the boy who smiled at her each day as she walked to the sea? Song No. 14 of 15 from my "Command Performace" Story Collection is the story of "Two Ships That Pass in the Night. Two star-crossed lovers whose shyness prevents them from confessing their love for one another and eventually just sail off into the night. - David Sanz
15 MOONLIGHT SONATA
Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" has been a source of inspiration for countless artists including The Beatles. Ludwig van Beethoven dedicated this famous sonata to his 16-year old piano student, Julie Guicciardi. My literary work for "Moonlight Sonata" was inspired by the maestro's devastating hearing loss and personal grief and sorrow. I practically had to relive his pain in order to achieve work that I hope is worthy of the maestro's approval. It is No. 15 of 15 from my "Command Performace" Story Collection. - David Sanz
